7.2 Membership Requirements

(a) All member schools must subscribe to the Confession of Faith adopted by the ACCS, and must be in basic agreement with the vision for education as set forth in the ACCS Mission Statement. All member schools or household members must be current in their membership dues. Each member school must require annual standardized testing for each student, by a testing method approved by the Board of Directors.

(b) Written annual renewal of each member's commitment is required with the payment of annual dues.

Schools that have applied for Charter Membership prior to Dec. 31, 1995, and have been approved, shall remain as Charter members. A school is defined as an institution generally administered by a Board and comprised of classrooms with teachers (not facilitators) where students are sent by their parents to be instructed (not self-paced), regardless of the number of grades. (Although this definition does not include home schools, it is not intended as a sign of opposition to home schooling.) Membership is understood to mean the acceptance of a school's application by ACCS with resulant priviledges. (Note: Those schools approved under the previously existing Associate Membership category have been "grand fathered" by ACCS policy 5.5.2.)

(b) All other schools, institutions, businesses, or individuals not defined herein shall apply and be considered for Affiliate Membership in the ACCS under the Affiliate Membership section.

7. A commitment to a minimum of one year of rhetoric required in the secondary program (grades 7-12);

8. Approval for full membership must be by a four-fifths vote of the Board of Directors;

9. Any of the above requirements for an applicant school may only be waived by a four-fifths vote of the board.

(iv) Affiliate members

This category applies to all organizations and/or businesses that are not in themselves schools(speaking in traditional terms) but provide instruction, materials, or direct support to the ACCS member schools in some aspect of the Trivium, or provide services to the Association or its members (such as legal advice/counsel, consultation, financial services, etc.) This category would also include home schools and individual members. Affiliate membership requirements include:

1. Payment of annual dues;

2. Everything they do should be basically consistent with what ACCS promotes;

3. They must be Christian in principle as well as in practice;
